OXFORD WINS COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP

The Oxford wrestling team won its second consecutive Oakland County title on Saturday at Lake Orion High School. The Wildcats finished with 306 points for first while Clarkston was second (245), Lake Orion was third (207), Holly was fourth (205) and Walled Lake Central was fifth (197).

Individual championship were Stoney Creek’s Blake Noonan (103), Walled Lake Central’s Sam Freeman (112), Walled Lake Central’s Tarrence Daugherty (119), Clarkston’s Mackenzie Hanselman (125), Hazel Park’s Joseph Eisho (130), Southfield A&T’s Isiah Berry (135), Walled Lake Central’s Nick Freeman (140), Oxford’s Ryan Miller (145), Walled Lake Central’s Liam Kinjorski (152), Lake Orion’s Dylan Wellbaum (160), Oxford’s Devin Trevino (171), Holly’s Cade Dallwitz (189), Lake Orion’s Sam Kinne (215) and Berkley’s Babacar Diop (285).

LAMPHERE FOURTH AT NEW BOSTON HURON

The Madison Heights Lamphere wrestling team finished fourth at the Dave Meltom Memorial Duals on Saturday. Matt Tomsett went 5-0 on the lead to lead the Rams while Trevor Kenney and Ian Allison each went 4-1.

HOCKEY

STONEY CREEK 4, FARMINGTON 3, OT

The Stoney Creek hockey team edged Farmington in overtime on Saturday. Jake Joliet scored two goals to lead the Cougars while Julian Graziani and Evan Gietzen also scored. Farmington was led by Joe Carbone, who had two goals.

BROTHER RICE 4, HARTLAND 1

The Brother Rice hockey team picked up a 4-1 win over Hartland on Saturday in the KLAA/MIHL Showcase. Dominick Diponio scored a pair of goals to lead the Warriors while Nick Dippre and Keaton Vogel also scored.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

HOLLY 30, SWARTZ CREEK 25

The Holly girls basketball team earned a 30-25 win over Swartz Creek on Friday in its home opener. The Bronchos were led by Rebecca Fugate, who had 17 points with three steals while Payton Price had 10 rebounds with three steals.

BOYS BOWLING

BRANDON WINS LAKELAND INVITE

The Brandon boys bowling team claimed the Lakeland Invitational championship on Sunday. Jacob Turner led the Blackhawks with a 697 series while Sheldon Smith had a 675 series.

BRANDON 16, CLIO 14

In a win over Clio on Saturday, Sheldon Smith bowled games of 222 and 196 while Jerry Turner had a 216 game for the Blackhawks.

GIRLS BOWLING

BRANDON 16, CLIO 14

BRANDON 17, SWARTZ CREEK 13

The Brandon girls bowling team found its way past Clio on Saturday for a 16-14 victory. Emily Davis bowled a 191 game to lead the Blackhakws while Bella Lauinger posted a 168. In the 17-13 win over Swartz Creek, Cara Davis posted a 202 and 171 while Davis bowled a 193.

COMPETITIVE CHEER

LAKELAND SIXTH AT HARTLAND INVITE

The Lakeland competitive cheer team scored a 574.4 total to finish sixth at the Hartland Invite on Saturday. The Eagles scored a 204.6 in the first round, a 170.6 in the second round and a 220.2 in round three.
