FlowBelow Aero Inc. Invests in IQMS Manufacturing ERP Software to Support its Rapid Growth as a Tier-1 Supplier for Class 8 Trucks

Manufacturer turns to IQMS integrated ERP and MES system for accurate forecasting and production scheduling to set customer expectations and facilitate on-time delivery

Paso Robles, CA, Oct. 03, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- IQMS, a leading manufacturing ERP software and manufacturing execution system (MES) authority, today announced that FlowBelow Aero Inc. has selected IQMS to gain a 360-degree view of the business, enhance decision-making, and achieve greater efficiency across the operations of its expanding business.

Headquartered in Austin, Texas, FlowBelow is the leading manufacturer of tractor-mounted aerodynamic products, including its patented quick-release wheel covers and fairings, which are designed to advance the fuel efficiency of modern trucking operations. The company is implementing IQMS EnterpriseIQ software, which uniquely combines robust enterprise resource planning (ERP) and MES functionality into one comprehensive system. The move to IQMS supports FlowBelow’s initiatives to use more accurate forecasting and production scheduling to set customer expectations and facilitate on-time delivery, as well as gain greater efficiency through integrated financials.

Supporting Company Growth via Optimized Visibility and Operations
FlowBelow has grown rapidly in the six years since the manufacturer founded the company and launched its flagship quick-release wheel covers for Class 8 trucks. Today, FlowBelow is a Tier-1 supplier to multiple major original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and its fuel efficiency products are available for purchase through OEMs and their dealer networks across the United States and Canada.

Initially, FlowBelow supported its operations using a combination of software products to manage its manufacturing, financials, sales and inventory. However, with the company’s expansion has come the need to manage 500-plus part numbers as well as the purchase of thousands of fabricated parts. Not only has FlowBelow’s software been unable to scale to support this growth; the lack of product integration has hindered the business’ visibility.

To support its next phase of growth, FlowBelow began reviewing several ERP and manufacturing solutions, quickly eliminating those offerings that would require the integration of multiple vendors’ products. An internal survey of FlowBelow employees led to a team member who had used IQMS in the past, and an evaluation of its integrated MES and ERP functionality led the manufacturer to select IQMS.

“We really liked the fact that the IQMS system had the complete functionality we needed, unlike other options that would have meant adding four or five more vendors to get the same features,” said Evan Paradies, FlowBelow business systems manager. “Equally important, the IQMS team spent the time getting to know our business, were open and honest, and thoroughly explained the major components of the system in a manner that all users could understand.”

FlowBelow is now implementing the IQMS system to improve key business processes and achieve a more disciplined approach overall. Among the company’s top initiatives in using IQMS are employing real-time data for more accurate production scheduling and on-time delivery and taking advantage of capable-to-promise functionality to set expectations with customers. Additionally, FlowBelow gets electronic data interchange (EDI) feeds with six-month forecasts from its OEMS, and with IQMS, the company can become more automated and efficient in using this data for ordering, scheduling, and sales forecasting. Finally, the integrated financial capabilities of IQMS mean the company can avoid dual entry and readily get to costing.

“Overall, IQMS has been a pleasure to work with,” Paradies notes. “I am confident in our selection of IQMS and its ability to support the future growth of our rapidly expanding business.”
