Your lunch break just got an upgrade: F2T Hospitality, the team responsible for the award-winning Alchemy Bar & Lounge, has opened a neighborhood deli-style sandwich shop selling warm and cold sandwiches with Zoe’s meat and Beecher’s cheese on crusty Macrina subs, hot soup, and fresh sliced meat and cold salads available (duh) by the pound. Plus, there's a hidden bar with password required for entry.

Friday Afternoon is a tea shop started by Friday Elliott, a self-proclaimed “legacy geek” whose parents met in Star Trek club and who was raised on a spiritual retreat in California. This Saturday, she’ll bring her pop culture-inspired teas to a brand new brick-and-mortar store in Wallingford, with a grand opening featuring raffles every two hours, games, tea tastings, and holiday discounts.

IT employee turned baker Debbie Nam has opened her own classic French-style bakery with pastries like croissants and macarons as well as more savory options like croque monsieur sandwiches, crepes, and charcuterie. They also serve espresso, wine, and beer. The bakery (named for Nam’s favorite Australian wine) quietly opened a couple weeks ago without an announcement.

Frankie and Jo’s has unveiled their new December flavors, which include “Winter Sunrise,” a sweet-tart sherbet made from coconut milk, blood orange, and Oregon cranberries and infused with frankincense essential oil; “Ginger & Molasses,” a spicy molasses-swirled fresh ginger ice cream with gingerbread cookie chunks; and the cosmic Mercury retrograde-inspired “Retrograde,” with organic white sage steeped in a sea salt chocolate base and which F&J calls a “soulful ice cream reminding us to look inward & reflect.” On that note, if some introspection with a side of vegan ice cream sounds like something you might enjoy, you can also visit their pop-up at Sweatbox Yoga's Sweet Sixteen.

Lady Yum
Artisan macaron maker Lady Yum has rolled out five new holiday flavors, including peppermint bark, eggnog toffee crunch, dark chocolate orange, frosted sugar cookie, and gingerbread lemon cheesecake.

Li’l Woody’s
In collaboration with PNW-based outdoor gear retailer KAVU, Li’l Woody’s has created a farm-to-table burger with portobello mushroom cheese sauce, rainbow chard and sautéed fennel, crispy fingerling potatoes, and a breaded, fried grass-fed Painted Hills beef patty.

Lola’s
Tom Douglas’s Mediterranean-inspired eatery has a new honey goat’s milk cheesecake with persimmon passion sorbet. The dessert is served over an apricot passionfruit sauce and garnished with a sweet pistachio crumble and a dried persimmon chip.

Molly Moon’s
Molly Moon’s newest flavor is a vegan and dairy-free grapefruit sorbet that they say is perfect “for holiday parties, in mocktails or cocktails” (just imagine it with a splash of tequila or Aperol) or with a scoop of their classic vanilla bean.

Parfait Ice Cream
Farm-to-table ice creamery Parfait kicks off their holiday flavors with white peppermint chocolate chip and sugar plum sorbet.

Shug's Soda Fountain
Shug's candy cane sundae lets you consume the peppermint confection in three different forms, with candy cane ice cream, candy cane hot fudge, and, of course, an actual candy cane on top. You can also celebrate with them at their Swinging with the Soda Jerks Party on Friday.

Trophy Cupcakes
Trophy's Candy Cane Cupcakes, which feature "rich Valrhona chocolate cake and tasty peppermint buttercream, rolled in candy cane dust and topped with a mini candy cane" are available through the end of December.

FOOD NEWS
Revel
Revel, Chef Rachel Yang's acclaimed Korean street food spot in Fremont, is temporarily moving to South Lake Union in spring 2018 to take up residence in the space that used to house Josh Henderson's Vestal. (They'll be back to the Fremont location in 2019.) Before they relocate, you can help them celebrate seven years of service with seven of their most-loved dishes at their upcoming anniversary party, followed by a free party open to all starting at 9 with their infamous suckling pig nachos (yes!) and a dumpling eating contest, in classic Revel style.

Adana
Adana’s crew can now add “hero” to their resumes after helping save a woman’s life. While fishing for squid near the Great Wheel, the employees of the Japanese comfort food restaurant spotted a woman yelling from the water and immediately went to her aid to facilitate her rescue until SPD arrived on the scene. Chef and owner Shota Nakajima posted on Instagram, “I’m the luckiest bastard to be surrounded by these people who won’t think twice to help someone.”

Barnacle
Starting in January, Renee Erickson’s Barnacle will be open seven days a week with oysters available daily. The adorably teeny jewel-box space with a copper bar focuses on aperitivo, Italy’s pre-dinner happy hour tradition, with a collection of rare amaro and Erickson’s signature emphasis on fresh seafood and all things canned/pickled/cured.

Junebaby
After previously being honored as one of the 50 best restaurants in America by Eater and Thrillist, Edouardo Jordan’s Junebaby, famous for its educational encyclopedia of all things Southern, has now been named the nation's best new restaurant of the year by Eater. (They're also planning a four-course New Year's Eve tasting menu with fried chicken and a beverage pairing, so get your reservations in before everyone else does!) Junebaby also won Seattle restaurant of the year in Eater's Seattle 2017 awards, which honored Kamonegi's Mutsoka Soma as best chef of the year, Alchemy as best bar of the year, Pintxo as best design of the year, and Dough Zone as best restaurant expansion of the year.

Sugar Plum
Sugar Plum, Plum Bistro’s dairy-free sweet shop, has teamed up with Caffe Umbria to serve espresso starting this week. The vegan bakery offers a range of plant-based milks, including coconut, hemp, soy, rice, almond, and oat.

Capitol Hill Series Release: Bete Blanche

Champagne Tasting with Champagne Benoit Cocteaux
Frederic Lemaire from Champagne Benoit Cocteaux will share tastes of "cuvées, recognized amongst the best growers' Champagne with multiple medals and awards," alongside bites prepared by La Parisienne's Chef Patrick Morin.

A Conscious Holiday Bazaar
Support local nonprofit Mother Africa, which provides resources to African refugee and immigrant women and children in Washington State, by shopping for local goods at this holiday market. Seattle Brewing: Craft, Culture, and History
If you've ever wondered about the history behind Seattle's brewing culture, this is your chance. The American Brewing History Initiative of the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History will lead a discussion about how the unique confluence of community, geography, and agriculture has shaped the Emerald City’s unique beer scene and how current brewers are carrying on the legacy of the past. The multi-generational panel of guest speakers includes Dick Cantwell, brewer and co-founder of Elysian Brewing Co.; Charles and Rose Ann Finkel, founders of Pike Brewing Co.; Annie Johnson, Master Brewer-in-Residence at PicoBrew; and Dave Green, president and CEO of Skagit Valley Malting.

Swinging with the Soda Jerks Party
Grab your vintage cardigans and circle skirts for this throwback to the golden era of soda fountains. Perihelion Brewery Festivus

3 Beer Releases
Reuben's Brews releases three beers: a small run of Triumvirate (the award-winning house IPA at Brouwer's Cafe, Bottleworks, and the Burgundian) in cans, Stone the Crows (an American Strong Ale aged in port finished bourbon barrels), and Haze Maze (a "juicy, hazy" IPA made in collaboration with Grains of Wrath Brewing).

Barrel-Aged Lion Tamer Bottle Release
Ravenna Brewing releases Lion Tamer, a vanilla porter aged in oak bourbon barrels and and dry-hopped with Madagascar vanilla beans, and which took home a gold medal at the Washington Beer Awards. The wax-dipped bottles will be available for $11 each, and there'll be a keg with the porter on tap, as well as food from Nacho Mama food truck.

Bothell Holiday Wine Beer & Spirits Walk

Chef Harry Mills from Purple & "Wine Guy" Chris Horn

The Magic and Science of Kombucha
Kombucha, the fizzy fermented tea beverage, has gotten a lot of attention in the last few years. James Chang, biogeochemist and proprietor of Shen Zen Tea’s Premium Kombucha, and Grace Chang, naturopathic physician, will discuss the history, health benefits, and risks of the sweet-tart, sparkling brew and explore how claims from home brewers compare to peer-reviewed research. Guests will witness a kombucha demonstration and go home with a freaky bacterial glob-baby yeast culture (aka SCOBY or “mother”) to call their very own. The event will be followed by a free tasting with several local kombucha brewers.

Traditional Italian Small Filled Pastas
Chef Bridget Charters, an expert on Italian pasta, will teach you how to shape small filled regional pastas like tortellini and cappellacci by hand. You'll watch her demonstrate the technique and enjoy tastes of pasta, then get to try out your newfound skills in pairs by making dough and shaping and filling pasta. At the end, you'll get to take home the pasta you made.

Good news for all you vegetarians out there (plus just those who enjoy vegetables): El Centro de la Raza is now holding vegetarian tamale classes as well as its more meat-friendly ones. The price may seem a bit steep, but it's worth it: the cost not only includes the recipe, the class and one dozen uncooked tamales, but also benefits the center's Senior Nutrition & Wellness Program, which offers a variety of services to senior citizens on a daily and weekly basis.

Gather Seattle at Not Without Salt Shop
You’ve probably heard the buzzword hygge by now. For the uninitiated, it’s a Danish concept meaning a sense of comfort, coziness, and contentment, and we could probably all do with a little bit of that right now. It’s also Not Without Salt food blogger Ashley Rodriguez’s inspiration for a bone-warming, winter-blues-busting gathering at her newly minted flagship brick-and-mortar space, with leek-jam toast piled high with wild mushrooms, ember-roasted pumpkin, a spiced lentil stew, and steaming mugs of mulled wine and toasted hazelnut chocolat chaud.

Holiday Cookie Decorating
For this hands-on class, Hot Stove Society's Sous Chef Lexi will show you how to make sugar cookie dough and ginger-molasses dough and how to roll and cut cookies. This lavish spread from Delancey promises the freshest catches the Ballard pizzeria can procure, with albacore crudo, handmade Il Corvo pasta with lobster, Dungeness crab, Penn Cove mussels, anchovies, roasted oysters snatched from Delancey’s roaring wood-fired oven, and a steady flow of wine throughout. They’ll finish with some delightful-sounding butterscotch pots de creme for dessert.

Jim Meehan: Meehan's Bartender Manual
Jim Meehan is a celebrated bartender whose game-changing NYC speakeasy PDT brought cocktail culture to another level. His obsessively thorough new manual, which comes in at just under 500 pages, offers an initiation into the history, lore, and tradition behind the hospitality trade and schools wannabe home barkeeps and seasoned mixologists alike on how to assemble and run a bar with maximum efficiency and generosity. Meehan will talk about the book and sign copies purchased from the Book Larder afterward.

This beer-themed bash from Tavour, a craft beer club, will include a selection of craft brews (including Evil Twin Imperial Mexican Biscotti Cake Break, Cascade Sang Noir, The Bruery Mocha Wednesday, and others), a free 2017 Tavour Holiday mini glass, food from the Bread & Circuses food truck, trivia with prizes, and a photo contest for a $500 Tavour gift card. Proceeds of all ticket sales will benefit water.org.

Heavy Metal Beer Dinner
Colin Lenfesty and Mike Murphy, the resident metalheads of Holy Mountain Brewing, named their Interbay brewery in tribute to the majesty of Mount Rainier and the album by stoner-rock heavyweights Sleep in equal measure. It’s appropriate, then, that Brave Horse Tavern chef Brian Walczyk riffs on that combo with Pacific Northwest ingredients like Gebbers Farms beef carpaccio alongside bright citrus pickles and elevated stoner-genius munchies like nooch-flavored Pringles. Each of the six courses will be matched with a rare brew from Holy Mountain, and the evening will no doubt be soundtracked by some fittingly epic tunes.

Holiday Latte Art Throwdown

John Harris Brewers Night

Latte Throwdown at Biscuit & Bean
