Kentucky Basketball picks up OSU transfer Brandon Garrison

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Former Oklahoma State center Brandon Garrison says he’s going to play for Mark Pope’s Kentucky Wildcats basketball team.

Garrison made the announcement Tuesday morning (4/30) on his X social media account.

In his freshman year at Oklahoma State, Garrison appeared in all 32 games, starting in the last 29, according to the university’s website. He averaged 7.5 points and 5.3 rebounds in about 22 minutes of play.

He ranked 5th in the Big 12 in blocks per game, 47 total blocks were the fifth-most ever by an OSU freshman, according to OSU.

This brings the number to seven total commitments for UK’s basketball team for the upcoming season.

Pope has brought in six transfers in the past handful of weeks. Collin Chandler, Amari Williams, Lamont Butler, Otega Oweh and Andrew Carr are the other five players who have come out of the portal to Lexington.
