Fort Pierce man died Monday in head-on crash on North Kings Highway, according to FHP

ST. LUCIE COUNTY — A 61-year-old Fort Pierce man died from injuries he suffered Monday following a crash on North Kings Highway, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The Fort Pierce man, who was not identified Tuesday, was driving a 2014 white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck north on North Kings Highway when "for unknown reasons," he crossed a double yellow center line, entered the southbound lane and collided with the left front of a 2020 white Mack dump truck, according to an FHP report released Tuesday.
The dump truck driver, identified as a 58-year-old Vero Beach man, lost control and traveled across the northbound lane into a grass shoulder. He was not injured, FHP reported.
After striking the dump truck, the Silverado pickup continued north in the southbound lane and collided head-on with a 2016 Ford F-250 pickup truck driven by a 25-year-old Fort Pierce man who was not hurt.
The Fort Pierce man in the Silverado pickup died after being transported to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce, where, according to FHP, one passenger with the deceased man was treated for minor injuries.
